An interview with producers with experience in the television industry, a review of the available literature and material from the internet were consulted. The history of graphic design in the television industry and the edutainment trend in South Africa is described. This leads to a discussion of the current state of education within the country. Edutainment, an amalgamation of education and entertainment, was customised for South African audiences, as a high percentage of the population comprises uneducated youth. In order to present education through an entertainment industry tool, the business plan devised is specific to the graphic design industry, because graphic design is the marketing tool that engages the target market for this purpose.
Autorenporträt
Dipika Narendra Naran, the daughter of Narendra and Kusum Naran, was born in Brits, South Africa. After matriculating from Hartebeespoort High School, she went on to complete her B-Tech Degree in Graphic Design at Tshwane University of Technology in 2004. She has received 1st prize at the internationally acclaimed Goldpack Awards.
