Generally, people need to be told how they're doing. There are many examples of feedback in our daily life such as gaming, managers and supervisors, measurement systems, final exams, peers and custumers among others. More precisely, in the performance of any task, whether laboratory or not, if a participant does not understand the instructions given they will hardly be able to fulfill the requested goals, but some other variables can be related, such as their perception about their own performance. Theory and research on the laboratory, in terms of reaction times, are revisited.
