Corrosion is an electrochemical process which involves the transfer of electrons between a metal surface and an aqueous solution. The consequences are large losses of products, environmental pollution and ecological disaster. Most metals corrode when they are in contact with aggressive medium such as moisture in the air, either in acids, bases, salts, oils, aggressive metals polishes, and liquid chemicals. One of the methods of combating corrosion is the use of corrosion inhibitors that decrease the corrosion rates to the desired level with minimal environmental impact. The field of corrosion…mehr

The field of corrosion inhibitors is undergoing dramatic changes from the viewpoint of environmental compatibility. Environmental agencies in various countries have imposed strict rules and regulations for the use and discharge of corrosion inhibitors. Strict environmental regulations require corrosion inhibitors to be environmentally friendly and safe. The book highlights the investigation made to test the possibility of using gum exudates from albizia zygia as a new green inhibitor for mild steel. The book also highlights the physicochemical properties including the chemical constituents; present in the gum.
