Please note that the content of this book primarily consists of articles available from Wikipedia or other free sources online. The Green Line (labeled as the Orange Line on maps prior to 2006) is a 27.7-mile (44.6 km) light rail line in Dallas, USA, operated by the Dallas Area Rapid Transit authority (DART). The US$1.7 billion project is scheduled to open in phases, starting in 2009. It will operate in addition to the Blue and Red lines currently in service, and will be joined by the Orange Line in 2011. It began operation on September 14, 2009 with a route from downtown Dallas southeast to Fair Park; this short route was scheduled to open in time to service the 2009 State Fair of Texas. The line is then planned to be extended further to Pleasant Grove, as well as continuing northwest from Victory Station to Farmers Branch and Carrollton; both extensions are expected to open by the end of 2010.
