Do you want to read Grimm's Fairy Tales? If so then keep reading... They are the stories we've known since we were children. Rapunzel. Hansel and Gretel. Cinderella. Sleeping Beauty. But the works originally collected by the Brothers Grimm in the early 1800s are not necessarily the versions we heard before bedtime. They're darker and often don't end very happily--but they're often far more interesting. Autorenporträt
The Brothers Grimm, Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm, were two German folklorists and linguists who famously collected and published folklore. The fairy tales they collected were part of a rich oral tradition - passed down from generation to generation and were in danger of being lost. Between 1812 and 1857 their first collection was revised and republished many times, growing from 86 stories to more than 211. The popularity of the Grimms' collected folktales has only grown since then. Jacob Ludwig Karl Grimm and Wilhelm Carl Grimm were born on 4 January 1785 and 24 February 1786, respectively, in Hanau in the Landgraviate of Hesse-Kassel.
