Groton Long Point is a political subdivision of the town of Groton, on Long Island Sound in New London County, Connecticut, United States. The population was 667 at the 2000 census. Used mostly by families as a summer resort, life in Groton Long Point is very different depending on the season. The area is administered by the Groton Long Point Association, which was established by an act of the Connecticut Legislature in 1921 presumably to enable seasonal residents to tax and issue bonds to provide services that the town of Groton could not or would not.
