Groundwater is an important natural resource for human beings. More than 95% of human population in India depends upon the groundwater for drinking and agricultural activities. The groundwater gets decreased due to rapid urbanization and increase in population growth. Dr. J. Abdul Bari trabalha actualmente como Professor Associado no K.S.Rangasamy College of Technology, Tamilnadu, Índia e obteve o seu doutoramento em 2016 na Universidade Anna, Chennai, UG em 2004, PG em 2006 na Universidade de Bharathiyar e Anna, respectivamente. Recebeu o Dr.APJ Abdul Kalam "Prémio Jovem Cientista -2017" atribuído pelo Marina Labs, Chennai.
