Simon Melchioly ist derzeit Doktorand an der Abteilung für Geologie der Universität Dar es Salaam in Tansania. Er hat einen Master of Technology (M.Tech) in Grundwasserhydrologie vom Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee, Indien, 2010. Zu seinen Forschungsgebieten gehören geophysikalische Grundwasseruntersuchungen, GIS und Fernerkundung sowie Hydrogeologie.
