Has your faith lost its vibrancy? Does your spiritual life feel dry? Does church seem like just something you do rather than who you are? Are you ready for the new growth God has planned for this season of your life? In her follow-up to Preparing Fields for Seasons of Change, author Rebecca Collison shifts focus from small rural churches to personal faith development, drawing on the Apostle Paul's call to be "God's field." Using Jesus' agricultural parables as a foundation, Groundwork offers a fresh perspective on living out our faith. By tending to the soil of our soul, we can cultivate vibrant spirituality and transformative discipleship. With a return to the land from which humanity was created, these farming narratives provide an organic approach to deepening our roots in Christ. The parables are paired with contemporary social issues, which act as essential elements for bearing fruit in God's kingdom. Each chapter concludes with an invitation to explore spiritual practices, offering opportunities for individual or small group reflection on the parables for further study and contemplation.
