Every trigger point, convergence zones and valley systems are indicated, discussed and explained in this in-depth site guide for Chabre. With this book the goal is to help pilots discover Cross Country flying in mountains. Chabre is a great place to start, there are a lot of large landing options, almost no strong valley flow nearby, lower mountains with high average cloud base. It is a really safe place to learn, yet the weather systems can be quite complex here, which makes it a very interesting place to fly. To me that is quite a unique combination.

Autorenporträt
My very first paragliding flight from Chabre was a 193 km FAI triangle! I fell in love with the area, I couldn't believe how diverse and beautiful this place is. A year later I moved to live here just 20 minutes north in a town called Serres, this has been my home ever since. The weather systems, the terrain, the limestone cliffs, the high cloud base with incredibly large and countless landing options are just a few things that make Chabre my favorite place to fly. It's a place for all levels of pilots, it offers some semi flat land flying some of medium altitude mountains and not too far away you get to play with, what I like to call - "The Big boys" better known as the French Alps. This guide has a flight route for all levels of pilots from aspiring cross country pilots to the ones who are looking to break their 100-150 km mark.
