The root canal anatomy complexity represents one of the eminent challenges faced by endodontist in clinical practice. Various conditions in which root canal is obstructed by calcific metamorphosis or pulp canal obliteration due to dental trauma, dental procedures, age, periodontal disease and various systemic disorder the need for root canal treatment while preserving the tooth structure becomes the need of hour. Guided approach is beneficial in this view. It can be static or dynamic. "Static guided Endodontics" is a way to use CBCT merged with an optical impression, creating the platform for the design of a virtual drill path subsequent to the clinical procedure of drilling using a guide. "Dynamic navigation" is a promising technology designed to guide the placement of drills/implants in real time by a computer.
