Brain tumors are the second commonest tumors after leukemia and the commonest solid tumors in children. Childhood brain tumors (CBT) are the commonest cause of cancer related deaths in children and adolescents. Late diagnosis of CBT is a common occurrence worldwide and is associated with poor outcomes. Brain tumors have a varied and complex presentation that make diagnosis difficult. The Guidelines will assist Healthcare Professionals mainly by providing the varied presentation pattern as well as imaging recommendations for children who have a brain tumor. The Guidelines are precise, brief and are written in a simplified language. This will allow for easy understanding, portability as well as to facilitate use as a quick reference while attending to patients. Therefore, the Guidelines will help in early diagnosis and hence in management of CBT especially in Kenya and Sub-Saharan Africa to provide better outcomes.
