The Conference was organized by the Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences (KFAS), the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, the Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research, and Kuwait University.

Prof. Oral Buyukozturk is a professor of civil and environmental engineering at Massachusetts Institute of Technology; Prof. Walid Bouhamra is a professor of chemical engineering at Kuwait University; Prof. Ali Bumajdad is a professor of chemistry at Kuwait University; Dr. Osamah A. Alsayegh is executive director at the Energy and Building Research Center, Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research; and Dr. Hasan Kamal is a research scientist with the Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research.
