Autorenporträt
One Sunday my parents and I attended a beautiful heartfelt church service on "Palm Sunday". That service made my Dad and I start getting creative (as we both love art and creative writing) We began to brainstorm about that little donkey colt and his mama who carried Jesus into Jerusalem. We had a flood of ideas come to us. As ideas go, sometimes they don't come to pass right away, they are done in Gods timing. We had our idea in 2014. But it wasn't until I met my husband and best friend in 2017 that our idea had Gunner McGee in it. We adopted the sweetest little teacup yorkie pup right after we Married in the summer of 2018. I felt very called to put our dog in our book! Mostly because everybody wants to know Gunner McGee! He is very playful and cuddly. It made the story more dynamic and exciting to include our little fur baby. My Dad Gerald really impressed us all with his wonderful drawings and artistic flair. He is extremely talented with woodcarving so when I asked him to do the illustrations for our book he was excited to try something new. He helps capture the spirit and personality of each character. My husband Patrick was a photographer/Advertising manager for many years and knew exactly how to bring my Dad's drawings to life using his coloring and editorial skills on the computer. As for me, I was a hospitality professional here in TX for many years. I've always had a heart for people as well as serving others. I especially adore children. I don't have children of my own but get the best ideas from my dear niece and nephew. They had their part to play in our final breakdown of our book, we knew... them being children would give their honest opinion during our proofread, and boy did they love it! Our Family wants to continue on this journey of writing Children's books that help bring children and their families closer to Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior. With hope that they will experience Gods love and Grace HE shows us ALL.
