Thus, it is stated that it is through symbolic interaction that the social identity of a person results from his social positions. The divisions of categories by sexuality are an arbitrary creation, representing a specific social reality, which establishes different rights and duties in each group. Such categories serve to maintain or modify the position of individuals in relation to society.
