Tami Wong was born and raised in Lexington, Nebraska. She had a twenty year career in healthcare before returning to her love of writing. As a child and teenager, she wrote poetry, short stories and had countless journals. She was inspired to write "Hair Pride" because of her own experience with alopecia starting at age fifteen. Tami lives in Vancouver, British Columbia and draws inspiration from her life's adventures with her husband, two daughters and anxious dog.
