Putting the communal section of Mare-Rouge in the laboratory of global development is an experiment aimed at questioning the country (Haiti) as a whole. This conference is a pretext for initiating a lengthy local debate that could be extended to the international level, insofar as global development is not a bottle in which we simply look and encompass the totality of reality. This exercise opens the door to the global needs of the section (commune). Questions like: Why hasn't Haiti made any effort, despite its independence since the early 19th century? What can we do urgently to kick-start the development process? What is the responsibility of local authorities in this process? Is there still a chance for Haiti to shine in the concert of nations today? How can young people get involved in the political battle to propose another alternative? These questions were addressed with passion and commitment. We believe that Global consulting services and reseach (GCSR) will continue the debates to engage citizens in the development process.
