The present work is an ethnography about the Haitian community in the city ofCampo Grande (MS), the result of a two-year fieldwork between the biweekly meetingsfortnightly meetings of the Haitian-Brazilian Association of Campo Grande - MS(ASHABRA), the daily life and homes of my Haitian interlocutorsresidents of the Rita Vieira neighborhood and the dialogue with Haitian students at theFederal University of Mato Grosso do Sul (UFMS). Through a theoreticalcommunity, association, and leadership, I sought to understand the formationthe formation of the Haitian community and the first association of Haitians inassociation in the state of Mato Grosso do Sul. Based on these entities andorganizations, I analyzed how relations of affection and neighborhood are structuredrelationships are structured and how my interlocutors establish their own strategies ofof living together, familiarity and mutual support. As a result, the presentationof multiple forms of belonging and differentiations, these crossed not only by friendlynot only by friendly relations, but also by disputes and tensions.
