Anne Winslow has a plan: Help run the family bookstore in her small Montana town, marry a nice boy, and settle down in a cabin near the National Park she loves so dearly. But the bookstore is on the verge of closing, so when the restaurant next door suggests they go into business together, Anne's family agrees. What Anne doesn't realize is that the architect coming into town to help with the project is Roberto Bonino. Roberto, the devastatingly handsome love of her teenage life, who left town suddenly eight years ago and hasn't spoken to her since. There is absolutely no room in Anne's plan for Roberto. Even if he somehow got even more attractive, Roberto still seems to be running away from home, and whatever painful memories he has of the place where he and Anne grew up together. He's only here for now, so if they're forced to work together, Anne had better just ignore the way she and Roberto fall back into easy banter, the way his shoulders look in that shirt, and the way he sometimes seems to look at her the way he used to all those years ago. But while they work to give their family businesses a second chance, could Anne and Roberto get a second chance, too?
