Halitosis results from tongue coatings, periodontal disease, periimplant disease, deep carious lesions, necrotic tooth pulps that are exposed, pericoronitis, operculitis, mucosal ulcerations, wounds in healing stage, impacted food debris, faulty / imperfect dental restorations, unhygienic dentures and factors causing decreased salivation.
