Roman is Professor of Educational Studies, Killam Fellow and Affiliate of the Institute for Gender, Race, Sexuality and Social Justice at the University of British Columbia, Vancouver, Canada. She is author and co-editor of Becoming Feminine: The Politics of Popular Culture (Falmer Press, 1988), Views Beyond the Border Country: Raymond Williams and Cultural Politics (Routledge, 1992) and Dangerous Territories: Struggles for Difference and Equality in Education (Routledge, 1997). Her book Contested Knowledge will appear shortly with Rowman & Littlefield.
