Haltemprice and Howden is a county constituency represented in the House of Commons of the Parliament of the United Kingdom. It elects one Member of Parliament (MP) by the first past the post system of election. The constituency covers a wide area stretching from the border of Hull in the east to the outskirts of Goole in the west and northwards to Holme-on-Spalding-Moor. The bulk of the population is centred in the villages of Willerby, Kirk Ella, Anlaby and Cottingham. Rural Howdenshire forms the bulk of the geographical area of the constituency but provides only a small part of the total electorate.
