of Hamburg, American Women's ClubThe American Women's Club of Hamburg e.V. (AWCH) has been putting together handbooks since the early 80's to help both newcomers and long-term residents enjoy the rich and varied experience of living in Hamburg, Germany. Since its founding over 60 years ago, AWCH never lost sight of its initial goal to help Americans adjust to life in Hamburg, but has expanded its purpose to include the promotion of international understanding and social welfare and the advancement of knowledge and education. As a member club of FAWCO-an international network of independent organizations with a membership of 12,000-AWCH supports global projects to improve the lives of women and girls worldwide. However, AWCH also knows there are needs close to home, thus proceeds from book sales go to local charities.
