Lisa Smith teaches English at Pepperdine University in Malibu, California. Her writings include Godly Character(s): Insights for Spiritual Passion from the Lives of 8 Women in the Bible (Square Halo Books); The First Great Awakening in Colonial American Newspapers: A Shifting Story (Lexington Books); and essays on historic religious revivals, innovative pedagogy, and spiritual growth. Lisa earned a PhD in early American literature and lives in southern California.
