Enset (Ensete ventricosum) is a miracle food security crop of several millions of people; about 20% of the population of Ethiopia depends upon this crop. It is an indigenous and sustainable form of cropping system in south, central and south-western part of Ethiopia having social, economical and environmental values. Despite the diverse importance of enset numerous production constraints are recorded. Among which diseases and insect pest in particular bacterial wilt is in the frontline. This handbook is tried to review and compile the most important information generated by numerous researchers in the last two-three decades on the diseases and pests; commonly occurred and attack enset plants. Efforts have been made to incorporate the latest available information on their symptoms and management prospects. At present, enset is considered as an economically, culturally and environmentally important crop; it is hoped that this handbook serves as valuable source of information for users in the further investigation in the enset diseases especially bacterial wilt management strategies development options.
