Ethiopia India Brazil China are the countries in the world with unacceptably high maternal mortality rate.Various strategies are being implemented to reduce this rate and improve the overall health of women.One such strategy is ensuring the provision of preventive,curative and rehabilitative health services to the population by improving access and quality of services by training competent mid level and front line health workers. Currently a number of higher learning institutions are involved in the training of midwives. One of the objectives of midwives training is producing competent professionals capable of delivering comprehensive emergency obstetric care and managing other common gynecological problems.

She received B.sc nursing degree from Dr.MGR Medical University and Masters from RGUHS, India. She has 12 years of clinical & Teaching experience in various Hospitals.
