Mr. Evans Njewa has been involved in climate change activities for many years; from shaping the agenda at national level to negotiations at international level as a Desk Officer for Climate Change issues for Malawi since 2000, he has been an avid contributor at negotiations during various Conferences of the Parties (CoPs)of the United Nations Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC). He gives a holistic view of climate change; starting with its science and ending up with the latest negotiations that have produced the much awaited Paris Agreement to replace the Kyoto Protocol. What you read in the pages of this book are observations of what goes on at these conferences, at the same time detailing the various articles of the convention that Parties follow. This book is packed with new emerging issues on the climate change agenda such as: National Adaptation Plans (NAP); Nationally Appropriate Mitigation Actions (NAMAs); Intended Nationally Determined Contribution (INDCs); The Green Climate Fund; Sustainable Development Goals; and The Paris Agreement.
