In an era when corporate spotlights shine brighter on data than ever before, why do a majority of data management programs fail? Organizations of all kinds, from the public to private sector, consumer goods to professional services, face the same challenge: how to manage their data to minimize risk and maximize opportunity. Despite its paramount importance, data management is still largely branded as highly technical and painfully boring. This debut book from Jordan Galvin guides data leaders toward Day One success by turning that conventional wisdom on its head. With surprising humor and memorable storytelling, Happy Data provides the research, novel frameworks, and real world examples leaders need to start or improve their data programs. From gaining executive buy-in, to hiring, building governance functions, capturing metadata, increasing data literacy, and much more, Happy Data is the key to engaging, business-centered data management that works.
