Harari or officially, Harari People's National Regional State is one of the nine ethnic divisions of Ethiopia, covering the homeland of the Harari people. Formerly named Region 13, its capital is Harar. Based on the 2007 Census conducted by the Central Statistical Agency of Ethiopia, Harari has a total population of 183,344, of whom 92,258 were men and 91,086 women. This region is the only one in Ethiopia where the majority of its population lives in urban area: 99,321 or 54.17% of the population are urban inhabitants.
