John is a retired wildlife biologist/wildland firefighter. He grew up on a ranch in southern Idaho and has always had an affinity for the West and its history. When not writing, John and his wife Debi and their rescue dog, Bella can be found hiking and fishing in the mountains of Montana and Idaho.
