Autorenporträt
Janet Walton Dukes was born in Chicago, Illinois, and currently resides in Chesapeake, Virginia. She is the mother of two sons and one daughter. One of her sons, Jarrell, has Down Syndrome and was the inspiration for this book. Her other son, Jordan, is the talented artist who illustrated the book. Her daughter, Jazalyn, was the editor for the book. She hopes that this book and the series will inspire children to accept themselves and others as they are.
