Bonlyn was blessed with a good imagination and a love for books. When her second-grade teacher, Gladys McKnight, dittoed a story of hers, Bonlyn knew she wanted to be a writer. She wrote mainly science fiction and horror in her youth. Her writing has moved more towards fantasy worlds., but there will always be a place in her heart for Gene Roddenberry.
