This research explores the existing harvesting and marketing practices of selected Non Timber Forest Products (NTFPs) species in the Makawanpur district of Nepal. For proper harvesting there is need of supply based regulatory system, proper allocation of property right and appropriate season/time and scientific methods of NTFPs collection. Likewise, policy needs attention on empowerment of collectorsthrough formulation of cooperatives, trainings and flow of market information.

Tek is working, for the Australian Centre for Sustainable Catchments, in the areas of climate change adaptation, mitigation, GHG emissions accounting/modelling research. His PhD is on carbon sequestration potential of different land use systems in Australia. He has several publication to his credit. Recently, he received three major awards.
