Autorenporträt
Yasmeen Rahim was born, brought up and studied in bustling lively London and is the youngest of three sisters. Her passion for writing stories and poems started when she was 12 years old sitting at her messy desk or in her dreamy garden scribbling away or jotting down crazy ideas to write about! She started writing short stories to read to her many nieces and nephews who would always ask her to write another one when it had finished, that's what made her think that perhaps other children would like to hear her stories too. Once married, she moved to Birmingham and had two children, a boy and a girl who are the inspiration for the characters Hassan and Aneesa. When her children were young they all moved to Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates for five years; she homeschooled her son whilst her little girl crawled around them trying to grab colouring pencils! During her time abroad she had the opportunity to have some exciting new experiences such as doing Umrah, going to the desert, riding camels and making sandcastles on white sandy beaches. When not writing or having fun with friends and family she loves spending some peaceful time connecting with the Qur'an and learning it. She also enjoys baking, doing endless crochet and art projects, gardening and going for long walks, especially when it's raining or snowing!
