In 1989, she challenged herself to bring characters to life, writing and co-directing her first stage play at the Black Box Theatre. Saundra continues to write plays, with "He Waited For Me" being her most significant accomplishment to date.

Saundra L. Words discovered the gift of writing in the sixth grade after her teacher praised her over a reading assignment . Th e students assignment was to tell the story but in their own words. Her teacher was impressed with her work. For many years she dabbled with the gift until she challenged herself to writing a poem. After seeing a live stage play, she was filled with excitement and was ready to pick up paper and pen to write her first stage play and she did. Saundra has written several stage plays and has written several songs for her play titled: "I've Got A New Dress On." Saundra realizes that God is the source of everything in her life and to HIM belongs all the glory!
