Health is reflection of one's overall physical, mental and social wellness . It is a quality of life that enables the individual to live the most and serve the best. It is a state of relatively equilibrium of body form and function which result from its successful dynamic adjustment to forces tending to disturb it. Regular physical activity along with a nutritious diet is the key to maintain a healthy life. Creating awareness on health and physical fitness is a big challenge in the socially and economically weaker section people in any country. To inculcate the knowledge and awareness of importance and benefits of health and physical fitness, there is a great need to include health education in the education system of India. Regular physical activity along with good habits will lead to positive life style which in turn yields happiness and joy. This book is evolved from an attempt made to analyse the awareness of health and physical fitness, status of physical fitness and academic achievements among the students of four different categories of higher secondary schools of southern districts of Tamilnadu, India.
