Katiambo è docente presso il Dipartimento di comunicazione di massa e giornalismo dell'Università di Maseno, dove insegna studi sui media, sviluppo e comunicazione sanitaria. È autore di diversi articoli su riviste specializzate. L'autore sta attualmente svolgendo il suo dottorato di ricerca presso l'Istituto di Scienze Comportamentali dell'Università di Radboud, Paesi Bassi.
