The book, in its two volumes, is far from being complete or comprehensive. It gives baseline information on health in a country that is developing very fast and still a beginner in medical research. Although the two volumes of the book have been initially published between 1985 and 1988, still it would be of value for readers who are interested in the background of health services development in Saudi Arabia -Zohair Sebai (Jeddah, 2014)
