The Health status has become an important component of human development index. Both from the point of view of the individuals and from the point of view of the nation, there is great necessity to raise the health status of the people. It is only then welfare of the people can be promoted. Even if a country is very rich in material, monetary and human resources, it is of no use, because these resources cannot be exploited properly due to widespread ill-health of the people. In this study discussed the socio-economic status of fisher women both rural and urban in Visakhapatnam district of Andhra Pradesh and analyzed the morbidity pattern and medical attention received by the fisher women. The study explained the impact of socio-economic factors on the health and nutritional status of fisher women. The present study is one such best attempt in understanding the health and nutritional status of fisher women.
