The book examines the leadership enablers in healthcare innovation highlighting a new and refreshing strategic model of innovation. The model is used as the foundation to support the process of innovation, from ideation to implementation, within contemporary and ambitious healthcare organizations.
Penny Kechagioglou is Senior Clinical Oncology Consultant, Chief Clinical Information Officer, and Deputy Chief Medical Officer at the University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust. Dr. Kechagioglou has extensive experience and a diverse portfolio of clinical strategy, change management, clinical and corporate governance for leading healthcare organizations. Dr. Kechagioglou qualified as Doctor in Wales and completed an internal medicine residency program in the UK, after which she specialized in Clinical Oncology. Dr. Kechagioglou has worked as Consultant Clinical Oncologist in various UK NHS Trusts with experience in managerial roles such as Chief Medical Officer at Genesis Care UK, Clinical Governance Lead for Oncology/Hematology in the NHS, Vice Chair and Member of Research Ethics Committees, NICE Health Technology Assessment Committee Member, and Specialist Advisor for the CQC and the Healthcare Ombudsman. Dr. Kechagioglou has an extensive medical education portfolioas Senior Clinical Lecturer, Academic Mentor, Medical Tutor, and Postgraduate GP Educator. She has completed an M.Sc. in Public Health and Healthcare Management, an MBA and a Doctorate in Business Administration from Warwick Business School on the subject of Leadership and Innovation. She is currently studying for the NHS Digital Academy Diploma in Digital Health Leadership at Imperial College in London.
