Autorenporträt
Affectionately known as "Miss Ida" as dictated by Southern tradition, the author started life in the Ozark Mountains. The miracle birth heralded a singularly blessed life. Born an only child she has the anointing to pray for babies to be born to mothers who have been barren for a long time. Other gifts of the Spirit operate in her life. The prophetic voice is evident as she ministers to individuals or groups. Healing of minds, emotions, and bodies are common when Miss Ida ministers and speaks from her book of prophetic psalms.
Educated in public schools in Charleston, S. C. she attended Atlantic Christian College in Wilson, N. C. where her husband was the only male with a car to drive all the girls back to S.C. on holidays. During those days female students were not allowed to have cars on campus. Twenty-nine days after graduating from the College of Charleston Miss Ida married the love of her life and their union lasted just two months and 9 days short of 55 years. Some of their most joy filled days were being on the intercession team while building a new church. Several small churches employed them to lead worship. Mr. Bill filled in for the pastors and Miss Ida played piano or organ. Being involved in prison ministry was one of the most exciting things they did during a fruitful life together.
Her professional life was spent in teaching both private and public schools at the elementary level, the middle school level, the high school level, and as a college instructor in Early Childhood for 14 years. She authored a state approved course on Diversity in Early Childhood Education. Concurrently she served as a Master Certified DSS Trainer for early childhood professionals. Several of her schools were serving special needs children or teens. Her calling to be a missionary was worked out as a teacher, intercessor on the healing prayer team for 45 years along with her husband.
Miss Ida has set a goal to gain proficiency in water color painting and to master the violin. There is no retirement in her vocabulary.
Their only daughter graduated from Furman University. She is a linguist, accounting supervisor and an avid photographer. She has published a book of nature photos and philosophical sayings to accompany each picture.
Miss Ida has experienced many types of healing herself and they came as she studied and grew closer to the Lord through writing this work and partaking Holy Communion as often as possible.
