With surprising candor and transparency, Pastor Richard Patrick provides divinely inspired wisdom on how to deal with some of life's most intricate internal struggles. In his book, Heart Attacks: Guidelines for Dealing with Issues of the Heart, Richard provides the world with an in-depth look into his own personal life, as well as a revelatory strategy that equips every reader with some of the tools needed to navigate through life's complex situations. Richard writes, "Daylight Saving Time signifies the changing of the seasons. Some of you are still trying to spring forward when it's actually your season to fall back. To many of you, it may seem as though you don't have enough time to accomplish your goals. But it's not that you don't have enough time, the problem is that you're stuck in the wrong season." Later he says, "Our heavenly Father is in a custody battle for His children. More specifically, He is in a fight to gain your custody. But God isn't in a custody battle with your mother or your father. God is in a custody battle for you, against you!" At some point in all of our lives, we all wrestle against the same issues of the heart. Whether it's rejection, pride, or unforgiveness, issues of the heart will destroy us if they go unchecked. Thankfully, Patrick provides us with these guidelines that are both practical as well as biblical.
