"When fate gives you a chance, don't waste it.""Take the first step and make it happen.""When you love someone, tell them."Amelia "Milly" is new to Bantham on the south coast of Devon and decides to take a surfing course. This is where she first meets Jake, a kind trainee surfing instructor, and, as Milly later discovers, her friend's older brother. As their two lives become increasingly intertwined, she develops strong feelings for him. But she ends up with a broken heart. When Milly finally starts to get over her first love, she understands that she didn't fall for Jake because they were meant to be together. She realises that there were a few lessons she needed to learn for life - and heartbreak was the only way to teach her. This book is dedicated to the thousands of people whose hearts are broken every day. Through Milly's story, I wish to teach them what nobody else takes the time to address and hope to protect them from avoidable heartbreak in the future.
Autorenporträt
Amy-Maria Schmidlechner was born in Austria, in March 2009. She was raised bilingually by a British-born mother and an Austrian father. Alongside music, writing has always been one of her greatest passions. Amy usually prefers writing fantasy and dystopian fiction, like in her debut book "The Curse of the Diadem". However, in Milly's story, she explored a whole new genre. Writing a book with no dragons, no fantastical kingdoms and no magic was a challenge. Nevertheless, as this story takes place in a part of England she knows well, plus by drawing on personal life experience, she eventually managed to put the story into words. Fun Fact: Amy had two surfing lessons in Bigbury-on-Sea, which is a popular beach near Bantham. In fact, that's where the cover picture comes from. If you look carefully, you can see Bantham in the distance!
