Fluid dynamics is the branch of science which is concerned with the study of motion of fluids or that of bodies in contact with fluids and the subsequent effects of the fluid upon the boundaries which may be either solid surfaces or interfaces with other fluids. Fluid Mechanics is one of the most important parts of the recent interdisciplinary activities concerning engineering and technological developments. This branch of science deals with the static, kinematic and dynamic aspects of fluids. The fluid is considered to be static if all the particles of fluid are at rest with respect to a reference coordinate system. The study of fluids in motion, where forces due to pressure are not taken into consideration is called fluid kinematics and if the pressure forces are also considered for the fluids in motion then that branch of science is called fluid dynamics.
