Hans Dieter Baehrist emeritierter o. Professor für Thermodynamik an der Universität Hannover und blickt auf mehr als 35 Jahre Lehrtätigkeit an Universitäten und Technischen Universitäten zurück. In etwa 100 Veröffentlichungen behandelte er grundlegende Themen der Thermodynamik, die Messung und Berechnung thermodynamischer Eigenschaften von reinen Stoffen und Gemischen sowie Probleme der Wärmeübertragung, der Heiztechnik und der Kältetechnik. Er wurde mit dem VDI-Ehrenring und der Carl-von-Linde-Denkmünze des Deutschen Kälte- und Klimatechnischen Vereins ausgezeichnet.
