Kayla Jarppi was born in May 2004 in Robbinsdale, Minn. She later moved to Hudson, Wisc., where she now calls home. Kayla has excelled in academics and has received several awards, including a special Student of the Month award from her school. She has enjoyed writing poetry, short stories, and novels ever since she learned how to pick up a pencil and write. Her debut published novel, Heaven's Note, explores the all too common themes of mental illnesses, depression, and anxiety. Kayla suffers from anxiety and depression, and she says the writing process for this novel was very therapeutic and helpful. She hopes to shine a spotlight on awareness about this epidemic in our world today.
