Physiological, biochemical, cytological and anatomical study performed from 6th, 9th and 12th day of Chickpea seedling grown under heavy metal stress. Under Arsenic stress morphophysiological, lipid peroxidation total phenol phenol were drastically affected where as free phenol and SOD showed higher value on lead treated seedling. Root abnormalities were in AS, Pb and Hg heavy metal treatments and cytological abnormalities in respect of chromosomal bridges were observed spindle formation and separation of chromatid fibre in metaphase and telophase somehow disturbed due to heavy metal toxicity.
