Autorenporträt
My name is Lovelee Lundy. I am a published author and poet, and a proud mother to my amazing son, Cairo. When Cairo turned two years old, he was diagnosed with (ASD) Autism Spectrum Disorder. Having to navigate a new normal was both work and rewarding. There was so much to learn, and although I am no expert, I wrote a children's book to help others learn more about Autism Spectrum Disorder Hello, My Name is Cairo was written in a way that both parents and children can enjoy. I wanted the book to look and feel like a children's book to engage children while simultaneously providing support and resources to the readers by including activities that some parents with newly diagnosed children can find helpful.I didn't have a book like this with Cairo's initial diagnoses, so I created one with the intention to support, inspire, educate, promote representation, and spread awareness about ASD through Cairo's journey. I use our experiences with life and my God-given talent for poetry to inspire and connect with people. I have always used poetry as a coping mechanism. Over the years, I have created some very vulnerable and inspirational pieces. Since having my son, I have battled with anxiety, depression, fear, lack of confidence, and a range of other emotions. I have poured my heart on the page in my poetry and unbeknownst to me, it became my first published book, "Feel, Heal, and Enjoy." The book travels through my perspective of life in 5 categories: family, women's empowerment, my Black reality, love, and self-love. My goal is to connect people with commonalities in emotions to provide support, encourage, and spark conversations of change within a safe space. The dream is to help at least one, but to repeatedly do so through my books is magical. Keep in touch: www.Loveleelundy.com IG/FB/Linkedin: @loveleelundy
