Hepatitis B is prevalent worldwide. Chronic hepatitis B can lead to liver cirrhosis, liver failure, and hepatocellular carcinoma. Hepatitis B can be transmitted prenatal, sexual, and parental mainly by blood donation. Many countries screen blood donors for hepatitis B and hepatitis C. However, methods of hepatitis B screening differs in countries. Some countries still depend only on hepatitis B surface antigen which can give false results. Others depend on hepatitis B core antibody.
