Halidu Shafiu Kilishi si è laureato all'Università Bayero di Kano, in Nigeria. Ha conseguito una laurea in geografia, un master in gestione delle risorse territoriali e un dottorato in gestione della fauna selvatica presso l'Università di Ibadan, in Nigeria. Attualmente è direttore della gestione della fauna selvatica e dell'ecoturismo presso il Federal College of Wildlife Management di New Bussa, nello Stato del Niger.
